    The blue sky and the golden stars remind me of Europe who has been being built for years on wishing to beam all around the world as an economical power as well as a cultural symbol.

    So many Minotaurs are roaring at Europe.

    It may be an American Minotaur unwilling to share his authority on our planet meaning to impone his  Society pattern.

    He roars and menaces the weakest beings, trampling the ground with his military over-armed hooves. Deaf to protests and to petitions for the justification of his deeds, he is blinded by the steam that comes out of his nostrils. He roars and swoops down upon his preys  in a cloud of fire and dust.

    He may be a European Minotaur, Italian for example, who roars because this is the only thing he can do. A roar that has a hoarse absurd sound ; rather a bovine moaning deprived of intelligence uttered by someone who thinks he is a Minotaur whereas he is not ; the one uttered by Berlusconi who passes himself off as Mussolini taking the Germans for kapos in Nazis camps.

    No doubt the Minotaurs are still among us. The «  maître «   Saülo Mercader has shut them  up in his paintings after wrestling with them for so many years in his youth.  He exhibits them in his works not to forget them and above all to tell us that the Beast is not dead and that the fight for Man, Men and Human kind must go on.
